Georgia Requirements Overview:

Georgia's (GA) CPA exam requirements are not very complex. You only need 120 hours to sit and 150 plus experience to become licensed. Be sure you are at least 18 prior to signing up.

Education Requirements

What are the education requirements in Georgia?

150 Hours Requirement

GA does not require 150 hours to sit, only to become licensed.

Accounting Course Requirements

GA requires 20 semester hours of accounting courses that are above the introductory level

International Candidates NOTE: Education requirements must be met through academic coursework completed at an accredited institution. Professional training is not acceptable toward these requirements. Coursework completed as part of a Chartered Accountant program is considered professional training and is, therefore, not accepted toward the education requirements for the U.S. Uniform CPA Examination.

Business Course Requirements

GA does not have any special business course requirement prior to sitting

What are the age and residency requirements in Georgia?

You are NOT Required for Georgia to be US Citizen to sit for the CPA exam

Georgia does NOT require you to be a resident, employee, OR have an office in the state for you to take the CPA exam.

Already Passed The CPA Exam in Georgia? Here Are The CPA License Requirements

To become licensed in GA you are required to perform the following:

Education Requirements:
* 150 total semester hours
* 30 Hours of Accounting Classes. Must include intermediate/advanced level classes
* Business courses must include 24 credit hours of upper-division classes

Experience Requirements:
* 1 year of supervised accounting experience (public or non) that must be verified by an active CPA licensee and the state board.
* Experience must be completed less than one year preceding your application date.
