1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information you voluntarily provide when using our Site:

  • Email signup: When you opt in to our free CPA exam coaching guides, cheat sheets, study personality quiz, or newsletter — we collect your name and email address.
  • SMS signup: When you opt in to our SMS programs, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent. See Section 6 for full details.
  • Contact form: When you contact us via our "Contact" page, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
  • Comments: When you leave a comment on a blog post, we may collect your name, email, and other information you provide.
  • Quiz responses: When you complete our CPA Study Personality Quiz, we collect your quiz answers and the resulting personality type.

You are not required to provide personal information to browse the Site. Most content is accessible without signing up.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information:

  • Device information: Device type, operating system, browser type, screen size
  • Usage data: Pages visited, time spent, click patterns, referral source
  • Log data: IP address, access times, error logs
  • Approximate location: City/region-level location based on IP address (we do not collect precise geolocation)

1.3 Information from Third Parties

If you interact with us through third-party platforms (e.g., click through from a social media ad, sign in via Google), we may receive information from those platforms per their own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide content and resources: Deliver the guides, cheat sheets, quiz results, and newsletters you requested
  • Communicate with you: Respond to inquiries, send you content you opted in to receive, and (with your consent) send promotional materials via email and SMS
  • Improve the Site: Understand how visitors use the Site so we can make it more useful
  • Personalization: Tailor content recommendations based on your quiz results, reading history, or stated preferences
  • Security: Protect against fraud, spam, and unauthorized access
  • Legal compliance: Comply with applicable laws and legal processes, including TCPA record-keeping for SMS consent

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (as defined under California law).

We share information only in the limited circumstances below:

3.1 Service Providers

We share your information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Site (email delivery, SMS delivery, analytics, hosting, etc.). These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and are bound by their published privacy policies and the commercial agreements governing our use of their services. See Section 7 for a current list.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with legal process; (b) protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others; or (c) respond to a legitimate legal claim.

3.3 Business Transfers

If Anything Online, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar business transfer, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or material changes to how your information is used.

3.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information with other parties when you expressly consent to such sharing.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and (with your consent where required) serve relevant advertising.

4.1 Types of Cookies We Use

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for basic Site functionality (e.g., keeping you logged in, remembering form entries). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., Google Analytics). You can disable these via your browser settings.
  • Advertising Cookies: Used to measure ad performance and (where enabled) serve relevant ads on other websites. You can opt out via the methods described below.

4.2 Your Cookie Choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how the Site works for you.

For advertising cookies specifically, you can opt out through industry opt-out platforms:

4.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control signals from browsers that support them. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, consistent with California law.

4.4 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature. There is currently no industry standard for responding to DNT signals, and our Site does not currently respond to them. We do honor GPC signals as described above.

5. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Offers

CPA Exam Guide contains affiliate links to CPA exam review courses, study materials, and related products. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

The privacy practices of those third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit after leaving CPA Exam Guide.

Clicking an affiliate link may result in the third party placing cookies on your device. These cookies are controlled by the third party and are not subject to this Privacy Policy.

For full affiliate disclosures, see our Affiliate Disclaimer.

6. SMS Text Messaging

CPA Exam Guide and Kesler CPA Review are both brands operated by Anything Online, LLC. We offer SMS (text message) programs that deliver CPA study tips, exam preparation content, promotional offers, and related updates to subscribers who have opted in.

6.1 When You Opt In

You may opt in to our SMS programs through forms hosted on cpaexamguide.com, my.cpaexamguide.com (including our quiz funnel), keslercpareview.com, or other sites we operate. When you opt in through any of our sites, you consent to receive messages from Kesler CPA Review, which is the primary brand we use for SMS content, regardless of which site you opted in on. All SMS programs are operated by Anything Online, LLC.

6.2 What We Send

Welcome series: Approximately 21 messages over 21 days if you sign up for our study tip series.

Ongoing updates: Approximately 4-8 messages per month after the welcome series, including study tips, exam deadline reminders, new training announcements, and occasional promotional offers.

Message type: We send both SMS and MMS messages (which may include images such as whiteboard study visuals).

6.3 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for each message sent or received, depending on your carrier plan. We do not charge you to receive our messages, but we are not responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier.

6.4 How to Opt Out (STOP) and Get Help (HELP)

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP (or QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE) to any text message. You will receive one final confirmation message confirming your opt-out. We honor opt-out requests within 10 business days, as required by FCC regulations effective April 11, 2025.

For help, reply HELP to any message or email support@keslercpareview.com.

6.5 Consent Requirements

Consent to receive promotional text messages is never a condition of purchasing any product or service. You can sign up for any of our free or paid offerings without opting in to promotional SMS.

6.6 Your Rights Under TCPA and State Law

You have the right to revoke your consent to receive SMS messages from us at any time. Under federal TCPA, violations may be subject to statutory damages of $500 to $1,500 per message. Under North Carolina state law (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-100 et seq.), civil penalties range from $500 to $5,000 per violation.

If you believe we have sent you SMS messages without proper consent or failed to honor your opt-out request, contact us immediately at support@keslercpareview.com.
