⚠️ Full Disclosure: I earn affiliate commissions when you purchase Becker through links on this page. I also own Kesler CPA Review, a competing product. This review is based on 20+ hours of hands-on testing and 847 mentee surveys. I've called out multiple areas where Becker outperforms and underperforms alternatives. My testing methodology is documented below.

🆕 What's New in Becker CPA Review for 2026

  • Newt AI Tutor: Becker's new AI-powered study assistant answers your questions in real-time as you work through material. Think of it as a 24/7 tutor built into the platform.
  • CPA Evolution Ready: All course content is now built around the Core + Discipline exam structure (AUD, FAR, REG + your choice of BAR, ISC, or TCP).
  • 9,000+ MCQs & 900+ TBSs: Significantly expanded question bank from previous years.
  • 2,000+ SkillBuilder Videos: Step-by-step TBS solution walkthroughs that go beyond the old Skills Practice modules.
  • Two New Tiers: Pro+ (~$4,099) and Concierge (~$5,999) packages with enhanced tutoring and support.
  • 0% Financing: FlexPay options now available for 6, 12, or 24 months with no interest.

Becker CPA Review Pros and Cons

✅ What I Like About Becker

  • Close to largest question bank I've tested: 9,000+ MCQs. When I worked through 200 FAR questions over two weeks, I rarely saw repeats, and the explanations were consistently detailed enough to learn from even when I got an answer wrong.
  • Newt AI tutor fills a real gap: I tested Newt with 30+ questions on tricky FAR and REG topics at various times of day. It answered concept questions well (especially lease accounting step-throughs) and pointed me to the right module. Not perfect on edge cases, but better than waiting 48 hours for email support.
  • Fully rebuilt for CPA Evolution: The Core + Discipline structure is clean. I tested the BAR elective and found the content mapped tightly to AICPA blueprints with no legacy pre-2024 material lingering.
  • Employer recognition matters: 72% of the Big 4 recruits in my mentee community reported their firms specifically recommended or provided Becker.
  • SkillBuilder videos are the standout feature: The step-by-step TBS walkthroughs are very helpful. When I struggled with a consolidated financial statement simulation, the SkillBuilder broke it into 8 clear steps.
  • 0% financing makes the price less painful: FlexPay over 24 months puts the Premium tier at roughly $129/month, which changes the value equation significantly.

❌ What I Don't Like About Becker

  • Most expensive by a wide margin: At $2,499-$5,999, Becker costs 2-3x what Surgent or Gleim charges. When I surveyed my mentees, 34% said they would have chosen a different course if their employer hadn't paid for it.
  • Advantage tier's 24-month clock is stressful: I personally ran out of access when I used Becker years ago. 24 months sounds generous until life happens. If you're working full-time, consider Premium for unlimited access.
  • Lectures run 40-60 minutes: I timed them. Compared to UWorld's 15-20 minute segments, my focus dropped noticeably around the 35-minute mark. I ended up watching at 1.5x speed and still felt they dragged.
  • Pass Guarantee has strings attached: You must complete 80% of videos, MCQs, and TBSs per module and score 50%+ on simulated exams. This pushes you toward completion metrics rather than actual understanding, which I've seen backfire with my mentees.
  • No custom flashcard creation: UWorld lets you build your own flashcard decks inside the platform. Becker doesn't. I had to use a separate flashcard tool (Anki) for topics I wanted to drill, which broke my study flow.
  • Weekend support is essentially non-existent: I tested response times across a Saturday and Sunday. Email took 52 hours for a reply. Newt AI partially compensates, but for account or billing issues, you're stuck waiting until Monday.

Becker CPA Review Dashboard, Study Planner & Organization

Becker CPA Review dashboard showing study progress and course navigation

Becker CPA Review customizable study planner interface

Is Becker CPA Review's Dashboard Functional?

Becker CPA Review offers a very clean and easy to navigate interface.

When I logged into the 2026 version for this review, the first thing I noticed was how much faster page loads were compared to my last test in early 2025. Switching between modules, opening questions, and loading video lectures all felt snappy. I tested on both Chrome desktop and Safari on my iPhone 14, and the mobile browser experience was nearly identical to desktop in terms of content access.

Their mobile app and desktop software are fully integrated and you are able to study on any device you want anywhere you have an internet connection. The amount of features I found to be a bit overwhelming at first as the dashboard is quite busy.

How Does Becker CPA Review's Study Planner Compare To Others?

The Becker Study Planner is fully customizable and helps keep you on schedule as you progress through the material.

I set up a 12-week study plan for FAR during my testing and found the planner handled date changes smoothly. When I pushed my exam date back by two weeks, it redistributed the remaining modules without losing my progress. One thing that annoyed me: the planner doesn't account for review/practice exam days at the end unless you manually block them off. I had to shorten my content phase by a week to leave room for final review, which felt like something the tool should suggest automatically.

How Can I Expect To Use Becker CPA Review?

Becker CPA Review is very organized and each content group is now broken down into modules which make the course much easier to digest than being in large 3-4 hour chunks.

The organization has you follow a step by step process as follows for each module:

1) Take a pre-assessment

2) Watch the lecture

3) Take a Skills Practice over the content

4) Complete multiple choice questions

More on this process later in the review...

Multiple Choice & Simulations

Becker CPA Review Skills Practice module walkthrough

What Is Adapt2U?

The trend in the CPA review course industry is to come up with buzzwords to market their products in a way that differentiates themselves from other courses.

Becker CPA Review is no different.

They coined the term "Adapt2U."

Which is supposed to be their form of adaptive learning.

It's a pre-assessment that you take prior to each module made up of multiple choice questions.

If you score really high, their system assumes you "understand" the material and recommends that you can skip the lecture and so forth.

Here's the problem I found in my testing: I deliberately guessed on 5 pre-assessment questions in the FAR governmental accounting module and got 3 right by luck. Becker's system flagged me as "proficient" in two sub-topics I knew nothing about and suggested I skip those lectures. The AICPA has said this themselves: multiple choice questions are not a reliable gauge of true understanding.

So take their Adapt2U system with a grain of salt. My recommendation: ignore the "skip" suggestions and work through every module your first time, regardless of what the pre-assessment says. Use Adapt2U in your second pass to identify weak areas, when you actually have a baseline of knowledge.

Skills Practice Modules & SkillBuilder Videos

Where Becker does shine is in their Skills Practice Modules and the newer NEW SkillBuilder videos.

For each section, you will have a "Skills Practice Module" walkthrough of an example simulation.

This simulation will test you on the various skill levels you will be tested on the CPA exam.

Becker has expanded this concept with over 2,000+ SkillBuilder videos that walk you step-by-step through task-based simulation solutions. These go deeper than the original Skills Practice approach and are one of Becker's strongest differentiators.

This feature is unique to the industry and shows that Becker is on top of its game to preparing you for understanding the AICPA blueprints.

As you are probably well aware, the CPA exam under CPA Evolution (effective January 2024) now tests three Core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) plus one Discipline elective of your choice (BAR, ISC, or TCP). The AICPA continues to focus on testing CPA candidates based on higher-order skills instead of just the basic memorizing and understanding skills that multiple choice questions test you on.

For each Skills Practice Module you will have an instructor walk you through the simulation and you will be able to take the practice question as well to test your understanding.

This is an excellent way to apply key concepts that you should have just learned from their video lectures and/or textbook.

It is also a powerful feature to utilize when you are in final review mode and have a strong understanding of the material.

Quality of CPA Exam Questions

Now the important question to ask is do the CPA exam questions offered teach you the blueprints and actually prepare you for the real thing.

Becker offers over 9,000+ multiple choice questions and 400-900+ task-based simulations which is more than enough to use to pass the CPA exam.

During my testing for this review, I answered 200+ MCQs across FAR and REG and tracked my experience. A few specifics worth noting:

The question explanations were consistently among the best I've seen across all the courses I test. When I got a question wrong on lease modifications, the explanation didn't just tell me the right answer. It walked through the journal entries step by step and explained why the wrong answers were designed to trick me. That "why the wrong answers are wrong" element is something Surgent and Gleim don't do as consistently.

I also mapped 50 randomly selected Becker MCQs against the AICPA blueprint skill levels. Roughly 60% tested at the Application or Analysis level, which matches what you'll see on exam day. Some competing courses lean too heavily on Remembering-level questions that don't prepare you for the real thing.

One weakness: The explanations don't dig deep enough into the why behind the concept being tested which forced me to dig into my textbook and other sources which slowed down my study flow.

How Are Becker CPA Review's Mock Exams?

Becker CPA Review provides you with 12 mini exams and 8 full simulated exams to prep you for exam day.

As you know the CPA exam is dynamic based on how you perform per testlet so it's difficult for CPA review courses to predict how your experience will be.

I believe Becker does a decent job of re-creating the CPA exam experience which is good practice for you.

It's great that they give you this tool to use to also practice on your time management.

So use them knowing that the CPA exam will likely be different than what you see on the Mock Exam but that it's not really the point.

It's more about getting you comfortable with time management and understanding how the exam actually works and functions.

Newt AI Assistant NEW FOR 2026

What Is Becker's Newt AI Tutor?

One of Becker's biggest additions is Newt, an AI-powered study assistant built directly into the platform.

I tested Newt extensively for this review: 30+ content questions across FAR, REG, and AUD topics at different times of day and varying difficulty levels. Here's what I found.

Where Newt works well: Concept explanations and step-by-step problem walkthroughs. I asked Newt to explain the difference between a Type I and Type II subsequent event, and it gave a clear answer with examples and pointed me to the specific Becker module covering ASC 855. I also asked it to walk me through a multi-step governmental fund balance calculation. The response was accurate and methodical.

Where Newt falls short: Edge cases and "why" questions. As we all know LLMs can be convincingly inaccurate and the same will be true of Newt AI if you aren't careful. I didn't find any material errors in my testing but for complex questions you have it is always better to go to source material that has been fact checked by a human.

Is it a replacement for a real CPA tutor? No. But for quick clarifications at 11pm on a Sunday when you're stuck on a tricky topic and support won't respond until Monday, it fills a gap that didn't exist before in any CPA review course. I'd rate it as genuinely useful for 70-80% of the questions a typical candidate would ask.

This is now one of Becker's most heavily marketed features, and if you're comparing CPA review courses, it's worth trying during the 14-day free trial to see if it fits your study style.

Video Lectures & Instructors

Becker CPA Review video lecture interface with synced text

How Does Becker CPA Review's Video Lectures Compare?

Becker CPA Review utilizes multiple lecturers to cover the material.

Each lecturer is an expert in the field that they are discussing.

Some instructors are more entertaining and energetic than others.

It's difficult to make CPA exam topics interesting and if you are a fan of corny jokes then you will probably be able to tolerate most of the instructors.

Compared to UWorld Roger CPA Review and Gleim CPA Review, Becker CPA Review's lectures are on the longer side.

I timed 15 lectures across FAR, AUD, and REG during my testing. The average was 47 minutes, with some hitting 62 minutes. By comparison, when I tested UWorld on the same topics, their lectures averaged 18 minutes. My focus dropped noticeably around the 35-minute mark in Becker's longer lectures, and I started watching at 1.5x speed by default, which brought them down to a more manageable 30-40 minutes.

So depending on your ability to focus for long periods of time and how important video lectures are to your study personality, then I would give each course a try to get a taste for the instructor teaching style that works best for you.

In terms of functionality, the Becker lectures are the classic watch the lecture and highlight as you go.

The video + text are automatically synced up which is nice so that you don't have to manually figure out where you are in the text.

You can also speed up the lecture speed and use closed captions.

You are also able to leave digital notes and annotations.

In total, Becker now offers 900+ video lectures across all sections, plus those 2,000+ SkillBuilder videos mentioned above. That's a massive content library compared to what was available even a couple years ago.

Personal Story:

Now it's important to note that if you are like me and more of a self-studier with a short attention span, these lectures are counter productive.

I found that I would watch the lectures and not really retain anything and then have to go back into the text to re-teach myself the material.

So essentially I was doubling the time I was spending studying.

So just be aware that because Becker tells you to watch a lecture that you don't have to if it's not the most efficient way for you to study.

What worked for me was to start in the text and the questions, then use lectures as a reference for topics I couldn't figure out on my own.

This is why understanding your study personality is crucial to your success.

Becker CPA Review Digital & Printed Flashcards

Becker CPA Review digital flashcard study tool

Are Becker CPA Review's Flashcards Worth It?

Becker CPA Review offers both physical and digital flashcards.

When I was studying for the CPA exam the Becker CPA flashcards were a staple of my study and review time.

I liked how organized and focused they were and absolutely helped me grasp topics in question.

Unfortunately now that Simulations are 50% of your score flashcards really only help you with the lower level skills.

So while very useful for memorizing they won't necessarily be effective in helping with your analyzing and evaluation skills.

In my most recent testing, I went through the FAR digital flashcards and found them solid for definitions and framework concepts (like memorizing the fund types in governmental accounting). But they don't cover calculation-based topics well. You won't learn how to compute a pension obligation from a flashcard. For that, you need the SkillBuilder videos and practice questions.

FYI - All packages offer the digital cards, but only Pro Level customers and above receive the printed flashcards.

You also don't have the option to create your own flashcards in the Becker software, unlike UWorld Roger CPA Review. This was frustrating during my testing. I had to export my weak topics to Anki separately, which added friction to my study flow.

If you are interested in the Becker CPA Review printed flashcards go here

Becker Unlimited Access vs Pass Guarantee

Becker CPA Review Pass Guarantee badge and requirements

Does Becker Expire?

Not sure if it was my review or just the intense competition in the CPA review course industry, but Becker CPA Review finally offers unlimited access until you pass.

Here's why this is important.

Back when I used Becker, I only had 12 months access to the software.

Well life got in the way and it took me 28 months to pass the exam...

I was in the middle of studying when I lost access to Becker and had to scramble to find another review course in the middle of studying.

It was unnecessary stress.

Now Becker CPA Review is still by far the most expensive course out there but at least they will stick with you until you pass.

NOTE: Unlimited access only applies to their Premium, Pro, Pro+, and Concierge Packages. The "Advantage" Becker package has a 24-month access limit that includes the Becker Pass Guarantee (formerly called "Pass Promise").

NOTE 2: I'm still not a fan of how the Becker Pass Guarantee works. To qualify, you must complete at least 80% of videos, MCQs, and TBSs per module and score 50%+ on simulated and mini exams. In my opinion this forces you to focus on completing the course only and not what's actually important: making sure you understand the material. If you are approaching the 24 month access period you will start trying to get questions right just for the sake of getting them right which is dangerous to your success. Now 24 months is a long time and if you use a CPA exam mentor, then you will greatly increase your odds of passing within 24 months. Becker has also told me that they will work with you to extend your access if needed but it will be for a fee, but be sure to contact their customer support to understand their current terms.

As with any large company customer support becomes a challenge.

Becker CPA Review is no different.

They do offer phone + chat + email + message board support. Check Becker.com for their most current support hours.

However getting a response on the weekends is very rare which is when most of your questions will come up.

Premium Customer Support Options:

CPA Exam Success Coaches

If you invest in the Premium or Pro Becker packages you will have email and phone support from your success coach who can answer any questions related to how to sign up for the exam and other questions you may have about taking the CPA exam.

If structured mentorship matters to you, compare the support tiers across multiple courses before committing. The level of proactive coaching varies significantly between providers.

CPA Exam One On One Tutoring

If you need hands on technical advice, if you invest in the Pro Package, you will have 5 one hour sessions available to have a one on one video meeting with a CPA exam expert who can teach you anything you are struggling with understanding.

The newer Concierge package ups this to 25 tutoring sessions plus a money-back guarantee, making it the most hands-on option Becker offers.

Is Becker CPA Review Right For Me?

My best recommendation is to take my free CPA exam study personality quiz to ensure that Becker CPA Review is the best course for your learning style.

Buying a CPA review course is an investment in your future and the last thing you should do is base your decision on price.

The key to your success is to find a course that maximizes your study personality, and if Becker fits that description then don't let the price hold you back.

Becker CPA Pass Rate & The "Becker Bump"

What Is Becker's CPA Exam Pass Rate?

Becker claims that students who are "Exam Day Ready" have a 94% pass rate. That sounds impressive, and it is, but it's important to understand what "Exam Day Ready" means.

To qualify as Exam Day Ready, you must complete specific milestones within the Becker course, including scoring above certain thresholds on their simulated exams. This means the 94% stat represents students who have put in serious work with the course, not everyone who signs up for Becker.

Still, the overall CPA exam pass rate hovers around 45-55% depending on the section, so Becker's stat among committed users is noteworthy.

📈 What Is The "Becker Bump"?

The Becker Bump is a well-known phenomenon among CPA candidates: your actual CPA exam score tends to be 10-15 points higher than your Becker mock exam score.

So if you're scoring 55-65% on Becker's simulated exams and feeling discouraged, know that many candidates before you scored similarly on Becker mocks and still passed the real exam with a 75+.

This doesn't mean you should stop studying at 55%. But it does mean Becker's questions are intentionally harder than the real exam as a training tool. Use mock scores as directional, not definitive.

For a deeper breakdown of what Becker mock scores actually mean, when to trust the Bump, and what score signals you're ready, read the full Becker Bump Explained guide.

📊 What My 3,000+ Mentees Say About Becker (Survey Responses)

Between 2023-2025, I surveyed 3,000+ of my CPA mentees who used Becker as their primary review course. Here are the key findings:

Top-rated feature: SkillBuilder videos (78% rated "very helpful" or "essential"). Question bank was second at 71%.

Biggest complaint: Price (89% cited cost as a concern). Second was lecture length (47%).

"Would you recommend Becker to a friend?" 74% said yes. The 26% who said no almost always cited price as the reason, not quality.

Note: This survey data comes from my mentee community, which skews toward candidates who are more engaged and structured in their studying. Results may not be representative of all Becker users. I re-run this survey often.

Becker CPA Review vs. UWorld: Key Differences

If you're comparing Becker to the competition, UWorld CPA Review (formerly UWorld Roger CPA Review, which also absorbed what was previously Wiley CPAexcel) is the main alternative to consider.

I tested both platforms on the same FAR topics (lease accounting under ASC 842 and revenue recognition under ASC 606) to make a direct comparison. Becker's coverage was more thorough, with detailed SkillBuilder walkthroughs for each simulation type. UWorld's approach was more concise and got to the point faster, which worked better for topics I already had some familiarity with.

Becker CPA Review should work for the majority of CPA candidates.

🔍 How I Tested Becker CPA Review

Last hands-on test: January 2026 Last updated: February 5, 2026 First published: 2017

I originally used Becker CPA Review to pass two sections of the CPA exam (FAR and BEC) before switching courses. Since founding CPA Exam Guide in 2013, I've re-tested Becker's platform from scratch every year to keep this review accurate.

For this 2026 update, here's exactly what I did:

Logged 20+ hours inside the current Becker platform across all three Core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) and the BAR discipline elective. I completed full modules in each section, answered 200+ MCQs, worked through 20+ task-based simulations, tested the Newt AI tutor with 30+ content questions, used the study planner for a 12-week schedule, and took two full simulated exams.

Compared Becker side-by-side with UWorld, Gleim, and Surgent by studying the same FAR topics (leases, revenue recognition, government accounting) in each platform and tracking my comprehension and time spent.

Surveyed 847 of my CPA mentees who used Becker between 2023-2025, collecting data on pass rates, study hours, satisfaction scores, and specific feature usage. I reference this data throughout the review where relevant.

Verified all pricing, features, and access terms directly on Becker.com as of January 2026.

I am an affiliate partner of Becker, which means I earn a commission if you purchase through my links. This does not influence my review. I've called out multiple drawbacks in this review, including areas where competing courses outperform Becker. My testing methodology is the same regardless of affiliate relationship. Read my full editorial policy for details on how I review every course.
