Structured workflow is not for everyone: Becker's 2024 lecture refresh makes the video experience much easier to use, but the course still works best for candidates who like a guided plan. If you need more accountability or flexibility, you may want a supplement.

What Is Adapt2U?
The trend in the CPA review course industry is to come up with buzzwords to market their products in a way that differentiates themselves from other courses.
Becker CPA Review is no different.
They coined the term "Adapt2U."
Which is supposed to be their form of adaptive learning.
It's a pre-assessment that you take prior to each module made up of multiple choice questions.
If you score really high, their system assumes you "understand" the material and recommends that you can skip the lecture and so forth.
Adaptive recommendations can help prioritize study, but a correct answer alone does not prove understanding. Review the explanation if you guessed or could not explain the reasoning.
So take their Adapt2U system with a grain of salt. My recommendation: ignore the "skip" suggestions and work through every module your first time, regardless of what the pre-assessment says. Use Adapt2U in your second pass to identify weak areas, when you actually have a baseline of knowledge.
Skills Practice Modules, SkillBuilder Videos & ExamSolver
Where Becker does shine is in their Skills Practice Modules, NEWSkillBuilder videos, and ExamSolver review videos.
For each section, you will have a "Skills Practice Module" walkthrough of an example simulation.
This simulation will test you on the various skill levels you will be tested on the CPA exam.
Becker has expanded this concept with a large SkillBuilder library that walks you step-by-step through task-based simulation solutions. These go deeper than the original Skills Practice approach and are one of Becker's strongest differentiators for coursework TBS prep. For Mini Exams and Simulated Exams, Becker's ExamSolver videos help review MCQs and TBSs after the exam attempt.
This feature is unique to the industry and shows that Becker is on top of its game to preparing you for understanding the AICPA blueprints.
As you are probably well aware, the CPA exam under CPA Evolution (effective January 2024) now tests three Core sections (AUD, FAR, REG) plus one Discipline elective of your choice (BAR, ISC, or TCP). The AICPA continues to focus on testing CPA candidates based on higher-order skills instead of just the basic memorizing and understanding skills that multiple choice questions test you on.
For each Skills Practice Module you will have an instructor walk you through the simulation and you will be able to take the practice question as well to test your understanding.
This is an excellent way to apply key concepts that you should have just learned from their video lectures and/or textbook.
It is also a powerful feature to utilize when you are in final review mode and have a strong understanding of the material.
Quality of CPA Exam Questions
Now the important question to ask is do the CPA exam questions offered teach you the blueprints and actually prepare you for the real thing.
Becker offers over 9,500+ multiple choice questions and 450+ task-based simulations which is more than enough to use to pass the CPA exam.
Becker lists 9,500+ MCQs. A large bank is useful when you need fresh practice, but the explanations matter more than completing a particular number.
Use targeted sets to address weak topics, then mix in cumulative practice to check retention.
One weakness: The explanations don't dig deep enough into the why behind the concept being tested which forced me to dig into my textbook and other sources which slowed down my study flow.
How Are Becker CPA Review's Mock Exams?
Becker CPA Review provides you with 12 mini exams and 8 full simulated exams to prep you for exam day.
As you know the CPA exam is dynamic based on how you perform per testlet so it's difficult for CPA review courses to predict how your experience will be.
I believe Becker does a decent job of re-creating the CPA exam experience which is good practice for you.
It's great that they give you this tool to use to also practice on your time management.
So use them knowing that the CPA exam will likely be different than what you see on the Mock Exam but that it's not really the point.
It's more about getting you comfortable with time management and understanding how the exam actually works and functions.
One of Becker's biggest additions is Newt, an AI-powered study assistant built directly into the platform.
Newt is Becker's AI study assistant. It provides help inside the course when you need another explanation.
Use it alongside the course materials to work through concepts that are unclear.
Try it during the free trial and judge whether the explanation helps you solve a similar problem independently.
This is now one of Becker's most heavily marketed features, and if you're comparing CPA review courses, it's worth trying during the 14-day free trial to see if it fits your study style.
Video Lectures & Instructors
How Does Becker CPA Review's Video Lectures Compare?
Becker CPA Review utilizes multiple lecturers to cover the material.
Each lecturer is an expert in the field that they are discussing.
Some instructors are more entertaining and energetic than others.
It's difficult to make CPA exam topics interesting and if you are a fan of corny jokes then you will probably be able to tolerate most of the instructors.
Compared to UWorld Roger CPA Review and Gleim CPA Review, Becker CPA Review is much more competitive than it used to be because Becker redid its lectures in 2024 into shorter bite-sized concept videos, generally around 10-20 minutes each.
UWorld still has the edge for instructor personality because Roger Philipp and Peter Olinto are two of the most engaging teachers in CPA review. Becker's advantage is different: a more structured course path, live class options, Newt AI, SkillBuilder TBS walkthroughs, and ExamSolver review videos for Mini Exams and Simulated Exams.
So depending on your ability to follow a structured course path and how important instructor personality is to your study personality, I would give each course a try to get a taste for the teaching style that works best for you.
In terms of functionality, Becker's videos are built into a guided lesson flow with synced text, notes, playback speed controls, and closed captions.
The video + text are automatically synced up which is nice so that you don't have to manually figure out where you are in the text.
You can also speed up the lecture speed and use closed captions.
You are also able to leave digital notes and annotations.
Becker combines short concept videos with SkillBuilder TBS walkthroughs and ExamSolver videos for Mini Exams and Simulated Exams. Try these formats on a difficult topic to judge whether the explanations work for you.
Personal Story:
Now it's important to note that if you are like me and more of a self-studier, Becker's structured flow may still feel heavier than a practice-first system.
The updated shorter videos help, but you still need to decide whether you learn best by watching lessons before practice or by jumping into questions and using videos as a reference.
What worked for me was to start in the text and the questions, then use lectures, SkillBuilder, and ExamSolver as references for topics I couldn't figure out on my own.
Becker CPA Review offers LiveOnline lectures for Pro, Pro+ and Concierge customers.
If you are someone who lacks structure and needs scheduled sessions to complete the Becker CPA Review lectures then this option will be crucial for your success.
All of the LiveOnline lectures are recorded just in case you miss a session, which gives you flexibility.

Becker CPA Review offers both physical and digital flashcards.
When I was studying for the CPA exam the Becker CPA flashcards were a staple of my study and review time.
I liked how organized and focused they were and absolutely helped me grasp topics in question.
Unfortunately now that Simulations are 50% of your score flashcards really only help you with the lower level skills.
So while very useful for memorizing they won't necessarily be effective in helping with your analyzing and evaluation skills.
Flashcards are useful for definitions and framework concepts. Pair them with practice questions and simulation walkthroughs for calculation-based topics.
FYI - All packages offer the digital cards, but only Pro Level customers and above receive the printed flashcards.

Becker Unlimited Access vs Pass Guarantee
Does Becker Expire?
Not sure if it was my review or just the intense competition in the CPA review course industry, but Becker CPA Review finally offers unlimited access until you pass.
Here's why this is important.
Back when I used Becker, I only had 12 months access to the software.
Well life got in the way and it took me 28 months to pass the exam...
I was in the middle of studying when I lost access to Becker and had to scramble to find another review course in the middle of studying.
It was unnecessary stress.
Becker is still a premium-priced course, but unlimited access on Pro and higher tiers makes the cost easier to justify if you want a structured all-in-one platform.
Access: Pro, Pro+ and Concierge include unlimited access. Advantage has 24-month access and does not include the Pass Guarantee.
Access and pass guarantee are different benefits. Advantage includes 24 months of access. Pro and Pro+ offer a conditional $250 payment per eligible failed section. Becker CPA Review is no different.
They do offer phone + chat + email + message board support. Check Becker.com for their most current support hours.
However getting a response on the weekends is very rare which is when most of your questions will come up.
Check the current support channels and hours for your package, especially if you usually study at night or on weekends.

CPA Exam Success Coaches
If you invest in the Pro, Pro+ or Concierge packages you will have email and phone support from your success coach who can answer any questions related to how to sign up for the exam and other questions you may have about taking the CPA exam.
If structured mentorship matters to you, compare the support tiers across multiple courses before committing. The level of proactive coaching varies significantly between providers.
CPA Exam One On One Tutoring
If you need hands on technical advice, if you invest in the Pro Package, you will have 5 one hour sessions available to have a one on one video meeting with a CPA exam expert who can teach you anything you are struggling with understanding.
Concierge adds more individual tutoring and support. Compare the current session allowance and its separate guarantee policy if those are reasons you would upgrade.
This is a great option for folks who have been out of college for several years and know they will need more hands on help on topics they can't teach themselves.

The key to your success is to find a course that maximizes your study personality, and if Becker fits that description then don't let the price hold you back.
Becker says students who are "Exam Day Ready" have 64% higher CPA Exam pass rates than all other test takers. That sounds impressive, and it is, but it's important to understand what "Exam Day Ready" means.
To qualify as Exam Day Ready, you must complete specific milestones within the Becker course, including scoring above certain thresholds on their simulated exams. This means Becker's claim is about a prepared subset of users, not every person who signs up for Becker.
Still, the overall CPA exam pass rate hovers around 45-55% depending on the section, so Becker's results among committed users are noteworthy. Just remember that this is a company-reported, conditional metric rather than an independently verified pass rate for all Becker students.
📈 What Is The "Becker Bump"?
The Becker Bump is a well-known phenomenon among CPA candidates: your actual CPA exam score tends to be 10-15 points higher than your Becker mock exam score.
So if you're scoring 55-65% on Becker's simulated exams and feeling discouraged, know that many candidates before you scored similarly on Becker mocks and still passed the real exam with a 75+.
This doesn't mean you should stop studying at 55%. But it does mean Becker's questions are intentionally harder than the real exam as a training tool. Use mock scores as directional, not definitive.
