What Was MDS CPA Review?
MDS CPA Review was an Ohio-based CPA review course founded by Steve Martin, who spent nearly 28 years in CPA exam prep. Steve got his start working directly with Mr. Becker for 15 years before leaving after the DeVry acquisition to launch his own course.
Steve wrote all of the review materials himself, offered 72+ hours of lectures, 5,000+ multiple choice questions, and was known for his personal approach to student support, including a direct phone line to himself for exam questions. He also offered a popular 15-week "boot camp" format and a free repeat privilege for students who needed additional time.
Steve met with the AICPA every 6 months to stay current on exam content and was the only instructor in Ohio doing so at the time. His lecture style fell in a comfortable middle ground for most students. While MDS lacked analytics tools and had only basic study planning, the quality of instruction and Steve's personal commitment to his students made it a respected option during its run.
