Idaho Requirements Overview:

Idaho's (ID) CPA exam requirements do not require you to obtain 150 credit hours to sit. You must be an Idaho resident or intend to immediately become a resident prior to sitting for the exam.

Follow each caption below to ensure that you are qualified to sit for the exam.

Education Requirements

What are the education requirements in Idaho?

150 Hours Requirement

ID does not require 150 hours to sit, only to become licensed.

Accounting Course Requirements

ID requires 20 semester hours with a Bachelors or above

Business Course Requirements

ID requires 10 semester hours excluding accounting hours noted above

Business Law Requirements

ID does not have any specific Business Law requirements

Ethics Exam

Required to take AICPA Ethics Exam

Age & Residency Requirements

What are the age and residency requirements in Idaho?

US Citizenship Requirement

You are NOT Required for Idaho to be US Citizen to sit for the CPA exam

Residency Requirement

Idaho does NOT require you to be a resident, employee, OR have an office in the state for you to take the CPA exam.

Minimum Age to Sit for the CPA Exam

Idaho requires the applicant to be at least 18 prior to sitting for the CPA exam

How much does it cost to take the CPA exam in Idaho?

Idaho has fairly standard exam fee rates. If you need to re-take a part there is a $50.00 re-application fee that you will have to pay.

Already Passed The CPA Exam in Idaho? Here Are The CPA License Requirements

Education Requirements:
To obtain your CPA license ID requires 150 credit hours:
* 24 Accounting Hours
* 24 Business Hours

Experience Requirements: 
Additionally requires 1 year of working experience, which can be full or part time as long as completed within 1-3 years. Your experience must also be verified by an active CPA
